Endowed Chair of Business Administration, in particular Management Studies for Non-Economists
The chair treads new paths in management theory for non-economists. As future managers in the various institutions in which non-economists are employed, a basic knowledge of business administration and entrepreneurial thinking is indispensable. In order to take this circumstance into account, the overriding goal of the professorship is to impart basic knowledge in business administration, entrepreneurship, management and leadership to students of non-economics faculties at the University of Cologne. In particular, the focus is on teaching business and management-oriented analysis tools and their application in various contexts (clinics, museums, charitable institutions, public or mathematical-scientific institutions). In research, too, the chair is characterized by a high degree of interdisciplinarity, knowledge transfer and (predominantly quantitative-empirical) methodological competence in order to ensure contributions to the research landscape, university teaching and business practice.
